Saints on Tape (2025) was a collaborative thesis exhibition showcasing emerging artists Blue Dunsworth, Valeria Garcia, and Zack Crosby in the Crossley Gallery at Ringling College of Art and Design (2025). The show explored themes of surveillance, ritual, and queer representation at the intersection of installation, painting, sculpture, and video. Blending personal mythology with digital residue, Dunsworth presented a fragmented yet intimate reflection on contemporary identity through layered materiality, symbolic reconstruction, and screen-based storytelling.
The Fairy Boy: Odus sculpture stood as a looming presence within the exhibition, its chest embedded with a ring cam door camera that streamed live footage of the gallery to a television positioned at the center of the room. (View scene in the above right). The 2–3 second delay in the video feed created a subtle disjunction, forcing viewers to confront a mediated image of themselves, delayed, detached, and quietly uncanny. This confrontation with time and self reflected broader anxieties around surveillance and presence, turning the act of observation into a moment of disorientation and reflection.
Odus was situated as a functional element for the Hold Over installation, placed in the center of the show. Rooted in Dunsworth’s personal history of childhood transience, the space blended personal heirlooms with constructed art objects. It became an environment that was interactive, intimate, and estranged. The Fairy Boy Odus effigy perched above the room overlooked a scattered collection of burned CDs and DVDs containing original soundtracks and video works. One of these is a project that started as a digital investigation of the "Rose Creek Village Cult," often referenced in his work. Surveillance became not just a tool of control but a metaphor for memory itself: always under surveillance, always distorting. The installation blurred the line between shrine and screen.
